This very early Rolex GMT was brought in for restoration and required the fabrication of a stainless steel crystal securing ring. Corrosion was removed from the case and back seal seatings, the case was cleaned and new casing components were fitted. The movement was rebuilt with worn components replaced, screws polished, worn bearings bushed and a new mainspring fitted (this is standard with all repairs completed at Canterbury Watches).

As suspected, the barrel also required attention due to wear. Much time and care was spent on the escapement in order for it to perform optimally.

For a new bezel to be fabricated, an accurate technical drawing of the bezel was also completed and the correct grade of stainless steel sourced.
